Godrej Nupur Coconut Henna Crème Hair Colour Review

Godrej Nupur Coconut Henna Crème Hair Colour

Hi everyone!

Hair coloring has become a trend and gone are the days when one used to color the hair just to hide the greys. Few days ago, I was being sent this new hair color called Godrej Nupur Coconut Henna Crème Hair Colour which I have seen being endorsed by Parineeti Chopra recently. If you follow my blog regularly then you may be aware that I had a hair color treatment from Geetanjali salon where I had few copper colored streaks and highlights. But now that the color has become lighter, those pieces are getting lighter with every wash. Even though they look good but I wanted to darken them a bit.

Product Features: Godrej Nupur Coconut Henna Crème Hair Colour  is available in four beautiful shades i.e Natural Black (1.0), Natural Brown (5.36), Dark Brown (4.0), Burgundy (6.64).

  • No Ammonia formula
  • Long Lasting Colour
  • Pre-measured colourant & developer sachets
  • 100% Grey coverage
  • Feel the deep conditioning of henna.
  • Give your hair the rich nourishment of coconut oil.
  • Experience the amazing shade & brilliant shine.
  • All this in a crème hair colour for the first time ever.
  • Beautiful colour and hair that looks healthy, nourished.
  • Don’t forget to do your hypersensitivity test first for an absolutely pleasurable experience.

These Godrej Nupur Coconut Henna Crème Hair Colour are introduced in 4 shades i.e. Burgundy, dark brown, natural Brown and natural black. They cost just rupees 39 each.

Now, when you have had hair color treatment worth couple of thousand bucks then honestly one can get skeptical in trying a hair color for 39 rupees. These were the initial thoughts in my mind. And I am sure a lot of us have the same thoughts. Right? So, I decided to take the hypersensitivity test first, then applied the color and guess what, I am amazed now.

Now, I will tell you the entire procedure and my experience with this Godrej Nupur Coconut Henna Crème Hair Colour

Experience with Godrej Nupur Coconut Henna Crème Hair Colour

I chose the natural brown colour as I wanted my original hair color back and hide the bleached highlights.  The hair color packet contains 2 more sachets, one is a developer and the other one is the colour.
Developer: It’s a white creamy product that smells like a coconut sweet or like coconut cookie.
Colourant: The Colourant is a thick greenish mixture that has coconut oil, henna and other ingredients but no ammonia which is good.

Both the products are 20 g and 20 ml each. Before applying the color I did a patch test which I highly recommend you to do with this color or any hair color or the skin bleach.

Procedure: I mixed up both the colour and developer in a small plastic coloring bowl. Even after mixing the two things, I felt that the quantity was less. The quantity that a single pack has is ideal for men but for longer hair, you'd need 2-3 sachets of the product, but one is enough is you're just looking for touch-ups. This which would make the cost become somewhat equal to that of the leading hair color brands that most of us use at home. Therefore, the notion that we have, that if the hair color is cheap then it will be low on quality is not the case with this.

I applied this with the help of a hair coloring brown and felt that they should have incorporated the plastic gloves. But anyways, I applied the color with the brush but some of the color also got on my hands while trying to massage the color well on the hair strands.

The smell of coconut was still there. I waited for 30 minutes. Then I rinsed my hair. While I was rinsing the hair color, I felt that the color residue that comes out with other hair colors was not there much with this Godrej Nupur Coconut Henna Crème Hair Colour. Only some brownish water dripped for few seconds then clear water was there.

I also observed that the hair felt as if I had oiled my hair. Once my hair was dry they still had coconut scent and the oiliness was still there. I shampooed my hair the next day and then too there was not much of the color that came out.

Since the hair color has coconut oil and henna, it makes the hair shinier and smoother. There was no allergy or any discomfort, itching etc. In fact, the hair color that I has on my hands while applying this hair color that vanished after 1-2 days. Till the time the color was there on my hands I did not feel any sought of itching or discomfort.

So, with that I can say the hair colour is safe to use. My mum had few greys, so I gave her the dark brown one and still have the 2 other colors which I will give to someone.
Before (2 weeks ago) and After (A day after the hair color)

But again I will say this color was safe for me as I took the patch test before applying it on my scalp to be on the safe side. Hence, before using this you should apply the mixture behind your ear and leave it for some time to check if it causes any reactions, irritation or burning sensation. If it doesn’t then go ahead and try it. The only thing, I have to check is how long the colors stays.

Pros of Godrej Nupur Coconut Henna Crème Hair Colour

  • Price is good
  • No ammonia
  • Colors hair gently
  • Makes hair shinier

Cons of Godrej Nupur Coconut Henna Crème Hair Colour
