Do you like lip balms? I do. Lip balm is one thing that I always keep on trying from different brands due to their nature to heal dry chapped lips and the exciting lip smacking variants. I had reviewed a lip balm from a different brand few days ago as well. The recent launch from Maybelline were these cute baby lips Electro pop in 4 different variants like Fierce N Tangy, Pink Shock, Berry Bomb and Oh! Orange. The first one is a colourless lip balm while the rest three are colored one. So, there is one for everyone.

The lip balms are packaged in transparent and colorful packaging unlike the earlier versions of the Maybelline Baby lips. I like the current packaging to be more interesting than the previous the only problem is that the bullet doesn’t retract fully into the tube but once that is being used, even that problem will not be there. Electro pop has got 4 variants one colorless and 3 colored. The colored ones are slightly pricier.  I have got two of these lip balms. one colorless and a colored one called Pink shock.

Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop Lip Balm Fierce N Tangy: The lip balm is only for 135 Rupees and is a lemon flavoured balm. I liked its refreshing light yellow lemon resembling color. Once applied on the lips, it gives a lemony feel though not the taste. It has a very pale yellow hue which is not visible when I use it over the lips. I like to use colorless lip balms before going to bed to keep the lips moisturized and to protect them from further dryness. Other than that I also use the colorless lip balms before applying the lipcolors like matte lipsticks which tends to dry out the lips. While testing this lip balm, I have noticed that the balm gives hydration for good 4 plus hours and heals dry chapped lips very well. It also depends on individuals though but for me over 4 hours was the time it moisturized and kept my lips supple and softer. I will recommend it, if you’re into colorless lip balms. It is worth trying and hydrating.

Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop Lip Balm Pink Shock: Pink shock has a watermelon flavour though tasteless and with a warm pink color that will easily replace the lip glosses and lipsticks for certain occasions when you’re not in a mood to wear lip colors but just some hint of color. Unlike the earlier baby lips which had the sheer color these electro pop colored ones are very high on color for a lip balm. It gives a visible pink color on the lips which looks a lot like the natural lip color. I like to sport this during the day. It smells fruity but I couldn’t identify the possible watermelon scent from this though the smell is really good.

I have experienced that the colored lip balms are low on hydration as compared with the colorless lip balms but I would say this folk here is not in the same league. It is colored yet hydrates and moisturizes the lips for up to 3 hours before I need to go ahead and reapply. I will recommend this along with the other two variants like oh! Orange and Berry Bomb, if you’re into colored lip balms. I am sure girls are going to love these.

Take: Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop Lip Balms gives you best of the both worlds i.e. Color and moisturization except for the Fierce N Tangy which happens to be a colorless balm. Pink shock gives hydration and a soft pink color which is very natural looking. I feel in winter they are must haves to keep the dryness away but the color on.
