Hey everyone!
I was invited to try this new Hair chalk serve by L'Oréal Professionnel at Geetanjali Salon, Select City walk, Saket, couple of days ago. As I have never tried hair chalk on my hair, I was quite intrigued to try and see how it looks, moreover, as the service was at Geetanjali Salon, I couldn’t miss the opportunity since, I have already missed Geetanjali salon’s event when the salon was newly opened at Select City walk. The salon is located at level 2 though you can get this hair chalk service from any L'Oréal Professionnel affiliate salon.

Experience : My hair
chalking was done by the hair stylist Amog, with whom I has a pleasant
experience as she knew what exactly I wanted. The process started with the hair
wash. Post the hair wash, I was all set to go. Before the service, I was quite
in a dilemma whether I should go for a hair cut or just the streaking with the
hair chalk, but then I decided to go for the hair cut first. Lately, I have
lost quite a lot of volume therefore, my aim was to get a hair style that
should add some extra layers/volume to my crown and top section to give an illusion
of full head and I really appreciate that the stylist did exactly that. You
see, I have had experiences where the
stylist will just keep on nodding but would actually go ahead with his/her
wish.

Anyways, after the
haircut, she put some rollers on the layers and since we decided to go for the
hair chalk shade Bronze Beach, we
discussed where the highlights should be there. It was my first time and even
though that was temporary, I didn’t want my mum raising her brows after I reach
home, therefore she went ahead to get the hair chalk on the piece of hair, just
above my ears. That way, they will not be too obvious but yet would peek out
from the layers near my face adding a pop of color.
By the way, Bronze beach
is more like a honey blonde color.
She applied the hair
chalk which was of liquid consistency with the help of a sponge and before doing
that that she placed a plate underneath the concerned hair piece though some millimeters
away from the hair roots. She kept on pressing the hair chalk dipped sponge
over the hair piece till it was coated well. She used a hair dryer to dry out
the hair chalk over my hair strands. Once the hair chalk was dried, it looked
honey blond on my dark brown hair and didn’t transfer on my face or hands. The
hair chalk has actually covered the hair strands fully. The piece of hair feels
slightly rough due to chalk though, for which she did used a smoothening hair
serum.
In the orange-ish hues of the salon, the streaks were not that visible so, here is the picture, I took at home that shows the contrasting difference.
Picture after 4 washes. It's still there, though the vibrancy had faded. Great deal for 500 bucks. P.S I have no idea why my face looks white in the picture above. :D
So, did I like? Yes, I
did, since the color adds a good highlight to my dark brown hair and the
strategically placed streaks actually looked nice. The service takes around 15-
20 minutes at the most. Once, I reached home, I showed it to my mum who surprising
liked that too. With that, I think now, I can go for pinks as well, Ahem!! No
mum, I was just kidding! Not just a single color, you can try two different
shades to get more creative with the highlights.
The cost of the two
streaks on both the sides was for 500 bucks which is quite reasonable as it
won’t last forever. The price is reasonable as the hair chalk will stay on the
hair up to 2 to 10 washes which depends on your hair texture.
It also gives you the
freedom to pick up shades like pinks, greens etc. So, unleash your creativity
with hair chalk too.
