Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Striking
Hi girls!
Hope you had a great weekend! Today, I am going to review the latest launch by Revlon, actually there were two lip products which were launched simultaneously Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms and Lacquer Balms. I will review the matte balm first in the shade Striking which is no 240. These matte balms have been launched in 8 shades like: Sultry, shameless, Unapologetic, elusive, striking, standout, mischievous and Audacious.

Price: Revlon Colorburst Matte balms are Priced at 800 rupees each in India

I like the concept of lip colors in a crayon/chubby stick kind of packaging, reason being it makes them very easy to use and line your lips at the same time fill in. (at least till the time the pointed dome is still there and hasn’t worn out).

You’ll need to just twist the bottom silver part like a lipstick tube to let the bullet pop out. That was quite a relief as there were some products that you need to sharpen up and trust me that can be the most annoying thing, not only the wastage but the time it consumes.

Moving on Revlon Matte balm in Striking is a beautiful red with slight orange hues showing up here and there or more like an apple red color. Very hot and very gorgeous!!
These matte balms emit a minty bubblegummy smell that I like though may not be the case with everyone, but it won’t last that long therefore, even if you really aren't a fan of that fragrance in your lip product, it shouldn’t bother you much.

Apart from the fragrance, once applied it gives a cooling sensation on the lips that stays for around half an hour and then vanishes away!.

Pigmentation is good and around two swipes are enough to provide an opaque finish,  though it also depends on the shade. Striking is a hot red color and for that 2 swipes are just enough.
They have this powdery matte texture, In spite of which, it glides really well on the lips. In other words, is quite hydrating.
It is hydrating and moisturisng yet shows up as a matte color. Quite commendable as the problem with most of the matte shades is of hydration and that they would make lips dry but that isn’t the case with these matte balms.

It feels really light on my lips and till the time it's there, I could not feel that my lips aren't getting flaky. I wore it the other day. It stayed on my lips for 4 hours after which it starts to get fade off. When it is completely gone, it leaves a very faint rosy tint. Very faint.
It doesn't settle into the fine lines as such but I noticed that while talking, it gets a bit patchy from certain areas and slightly slips as in from the corners of the mouth. I will recommend using a lip liner especially with darker colors from this range.

Rating: 3.75 out of 5

Take: Revlon Colorburst Matte balm has a light weight, hydrating texture with good pigmentation. It hydrates the lips till the time, it’s there. Striking is a beautiful red with visible orange hues and is a universally flattering shade especially for dusky skin tones. It’s staying power is decent though the price could have been a bit lesser. If you love matte lip colors and price is not a problem then they are worth trying.
