Lotus Herbals Nutra Glow Daily Tinted Moisturizer Hazelnut Star Review

Hi everyone,
Recently Lotus Herbals Unveiled their Nutra glow daily tinted moisturizer.
Tinted moisturizers, BB creams and the new BB stick have proved to be boon for those of us who prefers light base. I will review a tinted moisturizer from Lotus Herbals, which is in the shade Hazelnut star.
Price: 475 INR for 50 ml
About the product: Lotus Herbals Nutraglow Daily Tinted Moisturizer SPF 25 lifts the skin and makes it firm. It has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, making it perfect for acne prone skin. Protecting against the harmful UV rays, it is beneficial when applied while going out. Also, it slows down the ageing process by lessening the visibility of rashes and marks.

My Experience: When this product was launced, I had the feeling that it would be the regular tinted moisturizer and was no mood to try it as I was happy with the way Garnier BB cream (second tube) and the Mayelline BB stick fared.
This product comes in a glass bottle with pump dispenser which makes it convenient and hygienic to use but the glass bottle may prevent us from keeping it in our bag unless you keep it in a foamy makeup pouch.
It’s a tinted moisturizer but looks more like a foundation in a bottle. The shade I have got is Hazelnut star. This product has been launched in three shades. Hazelnut is the darkest of all. Not really it is meant for medium skin skin tones or duskier ones but that doesn’t really matter you will know that soon as we will progress with the review.
The first thing that comes to mind whenever I think of this TM, is it’s smell. It smells heavenly. very fresh and soothing!! At least to me!
I remember, the first time I pumped out this product at the back of my hand, it looks exactly like a foundation due to which you will end up taking only a tiny bit but nope.. I took two pumps for my entire face. Now while I was blending/spreading, it did feel,it was absorbed completely.  and once I finished blending it… ahhha  My face was matte with soft sheen and no chip chip of course, :D
My face looked brightened with visible difference in the evenness of skin tone. As it’s a Tinted moisturizer, so the amount of pigment is low due to which you can’t really expect it to conceal the flaws or cover the dark spots. It's as a sheer cover.
This is the very fact because of which, I said that the shade hazel nut star will suit dusky to medium skin tone. By the way! Hazelnut looks like a wheat color.

I noticed that it makes skin appear smoother by filling some fine lines and also pores.
I have combination skin with oily nose and chin and normal rest of the face. This is one thing that I want to highlight that even on the areas blessed with oil wells, there was no shine for at least 3 hours and after that I felt the need to put some powder. Not bad!
I loved using it as a base before the foundation a lot as it has proved to be an excellent base for my skin. I will definitely buy it again. The first time used it I could not help checking the mirror with an excuse to touch up my lippy.. lol. sometimes you have to be reasonable even to check the mirror.
This Lotus Herbals Nutraglow tinted moisturizer can be good option for dry skinned girls but may not be suitable for very oily skin. Though on combination it may work just like it did for me as it gives more like a matte finish.
I have used it a couple of times and it didn’t break me out.

I have noticed that most of the Lotus herbals products suit me. I am currently using their micro emulsion, lip balm, sunscreen and now this. Please note that I am not saying this just because it is a PR sample. And I don’t treat my skin as an experimental ground. I only like products that have impressed me and rest you can judge. Isn’t it..:D
Though it has worked so good..I will still say that it is expensive for a Tinted moisturizer and I wish the price could have been a little less!

Pros and cons of Lotus Herbals Nutraglow tinted moisturizer

Pros of Lotus Herbals Nutraglow tinted moisturizer
  • Availability should not be an issue as it can be purchased online, drugstore and shops.
  • Pump dispenser makes it hygienic and convenient to use.
  • This product is available in three shades: hazel nut is the darkest and will suit medium to dusky skin tones.
  • It does hydrate the skin well which makes it suitable for normal, dry and combination skin types.
  • It can prove to be a great base for your foundation.
  • It does even tones the skin but does not have much pigment so don’t expect it to cover those flaws.
  • List of ingredients is mentioned on the pack.
  • It has SPF 25 so give sun protection.
  • As a moisturizer it does hydrates the skin but also leaves a matte finish and on oily areas, I experience some shine after a couple of hours.
Cons of Lotus Herbals Nutraglow tinted moisturizer
  • It is expensive for a tinted moisturizer, wish the price could have been less.
  • It may not suit very oily skin types.
  • Contains preservatives like methyl paraben and ethyl paraben. It also has Dimethicone, so if you are allergic to it, then do skip it!!
Rating: 3.75 out of 5

My Take: Lotus Herbals Nutraglow tinted moisturizer that can even tone the skin, suitable for dry to combination types. If you are looking for a moisturizer that can hide minor flaws and don’t mind the price then it’s for you. You may skip it, if you want more coverage or don't appreciate the price.

    1. Same with me Gagan, I am still surprised how it fared so far for me. Right now, I am in a mood to re purchase it but let's see when it gets over. You are right It can work as a sun protection too, even the foundation over it lacks SPF.

    1. Thank u Bharti.:)
You are fair so you may go for the lightest shade and it doesn't have that much pigment so, it will not look mismatched as i ma fair and hazelnut is a little darker for me but when i blend, it even tones the skin but doesn't make me look as if have used a tad darker pigment on my face.
      :)

  19. Hi Niesha Great Review about the lotus product..as i am also using lotus sunscreen and its really good.. i want to use this product too...but there is one question in my mind...
Do i will hv to apply this as base means is it necessary to wear compact or foundation after that??Couldn't i leave my face with TM only....
Pls i m very confuse of all this things....
    clraify this...thanks

    1. Hi Vaishali, Thank you!
It gives a very sheer coverage so, if you wish, you can use compact after this which is what I do or if you want more coverage then I would suggest skip this and directly use your foundation over a normal moisturizer/sunscreen.

  20. Great Review ...Nisha about the the Lotus product..currently i am also using lotus sunscreen which is really very good..This is also i found good
But as per your review this TM can only use as a base?

i couldn't leave my face with TM...Pls clarify hthis thing

    Thanks

  21. HI niesha!I am contemplating buying this product,as the one time i swatched it in a store it seems very similar to the ponds age miracle tinted moisturiser.however,i have a few concerns which are similar to yours,ie,oily t zone, and acne prone skin (verry few comedogenic products suit me) .What has helped address those is a primer.was wondering if you have tried this product in combination with colorbar face primer?if yes,how did it fare?thanks!

    1. Hi Amruta,
This is product is okay for normal skin but as I said it makes my T zone oily in summers which is why don't use it quite often. I have used Nyx silicone based primer which is very similar as that of the colorbar primer prior to this tinted moisturiser and the primer has helped achieving a matte skin for a longer time though I would suggest to skip this, I honestly find Ponds BB cream to be better for combination to oily skin rather than this.
