I am going to review a makeup brushes set from Real Techniques designed by Samantha Chapman and these brushes have made their strong mark when it comes to quality and usage. Afterall, they have been designed by the makeup professionals themselves. I bought these brushes some time back and love these. For foundation, blushes I always prefer to use these brushes.

My thoughts: These are the best brushes I have used. They came in plastic transparent box which contains a case that holds the four brushes. I loved the packaging, very classy. The brushes are very soft and have a metallic gold lower part and rubber grip which looks sexy and very soft to hold. Brand name/logo is endorsed on the lower part with red colour and brush name on the other end. The brushes are very easy to wash as I use them almost every day and they have not shed so far. Apart from that, these brushes are very travel friendly as instead of taking whole plastic box I put on dual carrier n put in my makeup box. Also very light weight. These are made of Taklon bristles which are synthetic therefore 100% cruelty free. They are really very soft and smooth on the face and always deliver perfect flawless results.

I will describe these in detail now.

Buffing brush: Buffing brush is a dome shaped slight wide brush with enough density of the bristles. With its soft bristles, this buffing brush picks up the product well and gives a flawless application of the foundation, evenly distributing the foundation all over the face and blending it nicely. Due to this there is no cakiness or patches. I use it to apply Mac Fix Powder Plus foundation and it does a perfect job to buff the product on my face.

Contour brush:  Contour brush is an egg shaped brush with soft and decently dense bristles. It can be used for highlighting the cheekbones, contouring and to dab some loose powder underneath the eyes to set your concealer.

Pointed foundation brush:  This brush is a tad smaller with a pointed end and when used on the entire face, it can result in streakiness but if you will use it for particular area like under the redness on your nose or on some blemishes then this can be utilized fully where the larger brushes may not prove much of a help. This too can be used to apply your liquid or even the powder/creamy foundation.

Detailer brush: Like the name says, it is a brush that can be used for certain details like highlighting the inner corners, or other places. It’s smaller than an eye shadow brush size makes is a multipurpose brush. You can also use the same to dab on some loose powder on the blemish you just concealer or even to apply the concealer on a tiny blemishes you are trying to hide! The bristles are stiff moderately so that they can be patted on the area properly without getting bend.  Other than that you can use it in any ways you like.

Final verdict: Real techniques Core Collection Brushes are value for money, if you will compare it with any of the quality brushes like MAC, sigma etc. They soft, dense bristles with slender handles make them delight to use. Even after using and washing them so many times, they have not shed which make them an investment. These are suitable for everyday use and even for beginners.

    1. I have ordered from iherbs.com and my order came within a week but I was being charged custom duty of about 1800 bucks. The parcel came via DHL. i think you should contact them or mail them immediately and confirm the same.
