Make Up Academy MUA Pressed Powder Review in shade 4

Make up Academy MUA Pressed Powder
Hi everyone!!!
Last month, I hauled from MUA store that stands for Make up Academy. I know I still haven’t posted a haul post yet on that. But no worries, the products will come up as review posts. In fact, my friend Tej, will do a MUA haul post here soon hopefully.
The last MUA product that I reviewed was their Fashionista blush and for the price,  ma going all ga ga over them. The next product that would be under the review scanner would be this MUA pressed powder in shade 4. Shade 4 is the darkest and some of you will think why I have chosen that. Actually, I was not aware about their shades and had this notion that their darkest would match our medium skin tones most probably and they do not make shades for very dusky skin tones as per my observation like in their compacts and foundation or even concealers, therefore, I chose this shade.

These pressed powders are available in 4 shades and is for a pound only. Their shipping to India would be Via Airmail and would cost you 7.5 pounds, something around 750 rupees roughly!
This MUA pressed powder comes in a square transparent packaging. Front flap has got the brand name and the back bears a label that displays its ingredients along with other details.
There is no powder puff inside, just the pan. Pan bears an impression that says MUA which looks look. I wish packaging could have been better as it looks flimsy more, though I would have to say, it is decent at this price. C’mon it’s for a pound only!

One thing that has impressed me about this powder is its texture which has suede like feel to it! When I touched it, it feels moisturizing, creamy and still it’s a powder that isn’t chalky at all. It’s just amazing. It doesn’t have any smell.

Now, this shade no 4 is darker for me as I said earlier. Maybe 1 shade darker. I should have got shade no 3 instead of this. This is a shade that will go with the wheatish to medium skin tones.
But that doesn’t mean I can’t use it, I can use it to softly contour my nose and cheeks without looking muddy. Or even with a foundation that is lighter for me to balance the complexion.
It gives a sheer coverage but powders are used for setting your makeup and keeps the skin matte looking which it definitely does and also the coverage that it gives it something that I will say is more than the other powders out there. Reason being, it isn’t chalky has this moisturizing creamy texture. Therefore, it sticks better to the skin which allows it to provide slightly better coverage than the other pressed powders.
I will still feel very light on my skin and blends very nicely with an even finish.
It helps keeping my skin matte for around a couple of hours and then like usual, my oily places gets shiny again. Its normal for a combination skinned person like me. I need to touch up to make my skin matte again.

I will say, if you are thinking of buying some products from Mua’s official website then do try this powder. I am sure, you will like it. Moreover, its non chalky texture will make it completely suitable even for the girls with dry skin.
Coming to pros and cons of MUA pressed Powder
Pros:
Affordable, if you buy from their official website.
Blends very easily and flawlessly
Gives slightly more than the sheer coverage
Controls oil for some time and then I need to touch up
Texture is extremely smooth and creamy that turns to powder like
Doesn’t dry out the skin since the texture isn’t chalky
Will suit all skin types
Ingredients are mentioned
Cons:
Filmsy packaging
No powder puff.

Rating- 4 out of 5

Take- Considering the price and quality of this pressed powder, I will recommend it, if you haul from MUA store, then do try it. But keep in mind this shade if for wheatish skin types and if you are fair to very fair go for shade 3 and 2 respectively.

  5. Besides the lack of a mirror and lack of shade selection it sounds sooo good to me! I love the feeling of a velvety smooth texture, I've seen these several times on local shopping sites and thought about buying them but haven't yet! Thanks for reviewing, in the future when I finish ALL my powders I'd love to try this!
