Ponds Pimple Clear white Face wash Review

Hi Everyone!!
Recently Ponds India launched this new complete solution Pimple Clear white Multi action face wash and I did a launch post on that too. I was at the store, where I spot this face wash in white tube and there you go, I bought it to try it..
I have combination skin and I am always in a hunt for a good face wash and also my skin kind of changes as per the season, which I assume is same for most of us.
Price- The face wash is priced is Rs 75 for 50 gm of product.

Ponds Pimple Clear white Face wash claims to have oil absorbing clay, salicylic acid that controls pimples and Brightening essence.

This Ponds face wash comes in a travel friendly white tube. I don’t know why but I like products in tubes more than the bottles. The face wash smells like clay which it has, I mean the kind of smell Himalaya Mud face pack has, quite similar to that. And texture reminds me of ponds white beauty cream except for the tiny and gentle scrub particles that it has. It is thick and a little lathers and goes a long way. For the first time, I took a pea size of this face wash. It lathered well and gave me clean skin with no oil at all, but wait, after some time I felt my skin is stretchy on certain areas that were normal and the areas which were oily have become normal with no oil there. So, next time I took a little bit of this face wash and stretchiness was still there but not that much.
It made me think that it is one of those face washes that are good for very oily skin but they are not for combination skin.
Oily Skin face washes in India

I was feeling stretchy and then had to moisturize and you may know when your skin is dry/stretchy then fine lines are more visible along with the expression lines.
I would in short say that it is a face wash that is good for very oily skin but not for combination skin. And you dare not use it in your usual amount it will dry your face.

Pros of ponds pimple clear white face wash:
  • Affordable and easy to use travel friendly packaging
  • Brightens the skin
  • Has salicylic acid to prevent pimples.
  • It does tighten pores though only temporarily well (nothing does)
  • Cleans the skin well
  • Removes excess oil
  • Good for oily skin
Cons of Ponds Pimple Clear white Face wash:
  • It removes excess oil and sometimes even the essential too and can leave skin stretchy if used in a little extra quantity
  • It isn’t for normal skin type but only for oily skin as it may leave you stretchy
  • I couldn’t notice it smoothens the roughness on the skin
  • and the famous whitening tag that every product seems to have these days, I haven't noticed that it has done anything like that.:D
Rating: 3.25 out of 5
My take- I will recommend this Ponds Face wash to only those who have very oily skin only as it may leave your skin stretchy and dry (the normal parts). I personally have not liked it much and have been using it for a week and it did the same to me every time, the same stretchy feeling.Very oily skin can definitely give it a try!! It can control oils well!

  10. Adding 'white' seems to increases the sales tags especially for products in India. Ponds face washes, the thing i have noticed is that a little bit goes a very long way. i usually use a very tiny dot of face wash because it foams too much. i have combination skin like yours and i find that it stretches my skin out too much too. extremely well researched and put out points on the product, Niesha. Great review

    1. Absolutely Coral! In India, white tag guarantees higher sales. It's ridiculous but now a sad truth. A little bit goes along way and if used in usual quantity then it may leave stretchy, this is what i have observed with their white beauty face wash as well. It's better to avoid such face washes then.
      Thank you!

    1. No Ishleen as when you use any cleanser that can make your skin dry then the sebaceous glands secrete more oils afterwards to compensate for the dryness, so do not use any thing that makes your oily skin dry. Use a mild cleanser instead.
sorry for the late reply, somehow I missed this comment!

    1. Winters are here, I think you should stick to your neem one as it can be drying in winters. You can give it a try in summers when our skin is even more oily!
