Barbara Daly Eyeshadow Bon Bon Sensational
Here I am with a short review on Barbara Daly Eye shadow Bon Bons bought from local store Tesco a while back as part of 3 for 2 offers. Barbara Daly is one of those makeup ranges which contain a number of good products for sale in Tesco Supermarkets.
This eye shadow is part of the beauty collection by legendary make-up artist, Barbara Daly.
Quantity: 2 gm
Price: £7 from Tesco
My Thoughts: It is very impressive palette to create either a gorgeous natural look or more dramatic intense look. There isn’t any matte shade in this palette which suits me as I don’t like matte shades, but might disappoint some. It creates very fine milled glitters which hardly show on eyes but help in creating an amazing Smokey eyes look. I found this eye shadow to be long wearing with a primer. It looks slightly similar to Chanel’s quads but just a smidgeon cheaper at £7. Payoff varies from shade to shade - the lighter shades are not intense as compare to darkest ones, but all are silky smooth, bendable and can be applied wet or dry. All colours are wearable and would suit all skin tones.
Pigmentation: Darkest colours are more intense then lighter ones. Pigmentation is not great but with primer or base, this palette rocks.Below are the swatches with and without flash.
Packaging: Packaging is simple and cute, compact and sturdy enough to carry around while travelling. It comes in a square shape black palette with transparent lid. The brand name is engraved on the upper side of the lid and colour name is written below the palette. Ingredients are also listed on the back side of palette. It comes with an applicator but I prefer to use eye shadow brushes.
Texture: The shades look very creamy and silky but do fallout when picked with brush. Texture is mixed - powdery and creamy. Very easy to blend with lovely wearable colours! You can create or give multidimensional or glamorous looks to your eyes with this palette by mixing lots of other colours together.
Staying Power: The staying power is not bad at all. Without base it won’t stay longer but with the primer it stays up to 5-6 hours. You can use this with wet and damp brush to make it stay longer.
Description of shades:
The first shade is really good for brow highlight/inner tear duct shade. It looks sheerer then all 3 shades.
The next two shades are very pretty; a lovely pigmented copper and a chocolate brown. Blend really nicely, suitable for all skin tones and contain mild glitters but hardly noticeable on eyes.
The last one is very pretty green shade; texture is creamy and superb pigmentation. I always wear this shade with my Indian attires.
