Jovees Cucumber Skin Toner and astringent Review

Jovees Cucumber Skin Toner review
We have been told that the secret to beautiful skin is cleansing, toning and moisturizing. Almost all of us cleanse and moisturize but toners can be neglected most of the times or some of us, don't really need them.
I will review Jovees Cucumber skin toner and astringent which I bought 2 months ago and have used it, liked it, disliked it.....:/  so, now it’s high time to share its good and bad points.
Price- 130 INR for 100 ml Ingredients- Only active ingredients are mentioned on the pack
Claims- Cucumber Skin Toner cum Astringent refreshes & tones skin without stripping natural oils. This toner encourages cell regeneration & soothes any irritation. It increases skin's ability to retain moisture, removes excess oils & helps to minimize enlarged pores to leave skin clean & clear.
How to use- Clean your face and pat dry. Pour few drops on the cotton ball or pad and dab on to your skin.

Experience- I have combination skin, earlier it was oily but now it has tuned into combination types especially in winter with normal cheeks, forehead and chin with oily nose. I have not used toners and astringents much since they can be overly drying some times. Moreover instead of toning or maintaining the skin pH balance they tend to dry out certain areas due to which my skin secrete more oil in order to combat dryness. :(
This green beauty caught my attention while browsing the skin care section of an online shopping site.
It comes in a spray pump packaging, which attracted me in the first place. I know I may be obsessed with the pumps and dispenser packaging.:D
It contains a grass green colored cucumber extract, sage, chamomile and aloe Vera. It is bitter in taste. (when I sprayed, it was there on the lips :P)

It has a fresh cucumber smell which I like since cucumbers suits me a lot but other than that there is some other smells too which stands out once the cucumber smell fades. Don't know what's that?
I use to spray it directly twice on my cleansed face, then some pats with my hands, followed by a night cream or moisturizer for the day.
I could not see any difference in the tone or texture of my skin. Sometimes, my skin feels dry even after using this which I suppose due to the changing weather here or some of its hidden ingredients may be!!! why companies like to play hide and seek with the ingredients?? :/
It says that it minimizes the large pores which I cannot say since I have few large pores on my nose which it does not minimize. I even gave it a benefit of doubt but sadly, I experienced the same thing. It has proven itself good for nothing sadly.:/
Honestly, It has not done what it has claimed, I liked the smell but that too is followed by some strange smell later on and not to forget the dryness it causes sometimes.
I feel my skin is even better without using this.:D
Dabur Gulabari rose water is cheaper and better than this at at least doesn't make the claims that can't be achieved at all!!
I think I will use it to tone my feet. Forget it, they are already dry, don't wanna make them more :)
Pros
  • I like the spray pump packaging, very travel friendly.
  • It is easily available online and affordable.
  • Quantity is good and this 100 ml bottle will last for good 2 and half months.
  • Removes excess oil and dirt, sometimes even the essential oils too. :P
Cons
  • Only active ingredients are mentioned. What about the inactive ones. Lol
  • I could not see any significant difference it bring to shrink the large pores, temporarily of course.
  • It strips even the essential oils sometimes.
  • Cucumber smell is nice but the smell you get once it dries is not that pleasant.
  • My skin feels so good when I do not use it. :P
Rating- 2.25 out of 5
My take- Ordinary product and has not at all fulfilled the claims it makes and now I am on a hunt for a good toner. But the bottle can be useful.. wait!!! who would want a bottle for that price filled with useless product!! :/

    1. same here Shikha, i am still wondering why i have bought this one. Ayur astingent makes skin overly dry then the skin produces more oil.. i have used that long ago.
