When it comes to beauty products,
what do we need to
have in our collections? Try to deny it; but we girls tend to be hoarders when
it comes to makeup. But what are the staple products that we all should have in
our collections?
Here are a few items to consider putting into your checklist
for your next makeup run! This is personally what I feel every beauty barbie
should own.
1.
Bold Lipstick
I cannot stress this enough.
You have to have a bold lipstick in your collection! At least
one! Whether it be red, hot pink, fuchsia, purple or orange.. You need it. From
day to night, everyday wear to parties; a classic red lip can either look sexy
or elegant, if not both. On lazy days or when in a hurry, bold lipstick does
wonders! A bold lipstick can tie your whole look together, even if you're not
wearing eye makeup. It gives you a really awake and polished look. Red lipstick
will also make your teeth look whiter! If you're intimidated by a full on bold,
bright lip, I highly recommend the Revlon Lip Butters in Cherry Tart &
Sweet Tart. If you want a really bold lip, I suggest either MAC lipsticks or Maybelline's
Colour Sensational Lipsticks.
2.
Blush
Blush can make a huge difference in
the way your skin looks. If you have dull skin, blushes can give your skin some
life and make it glow. A deep mauve blush can give the skin warmth and glow.
Play up your blush colours and use corals, oranges, apricots, berries.
Berry-toned blushes should be a staple in every girl's makeup collection as it
suits all skin tones, ranging from pale to dark.
3.
A Signature Scent (Perfume)
Sure, we love switching up our
perfumes on a daily basis. But there's always that one.. that when someone
smells it in the air, they immediately think of us. That sounded pretty creepy,
but seriously. In my personal opinion, I think a perfume can describe the
wearer's personality really well. For example, many girls' signature scent is
Juicy Couture's Viva La Juicy. It's a sweet, yet fun and loud, unique scent.
4.
Lip Balm & Lip Scrub
I'm cheating here because it's
basically two products :p.. But chapped & flaky lips can look dark and it's
not cute. You can make your own Lip Scrub by adding one part of honey to three
parts of regular white sugar. Do not use salt! Salt is a lot coarser than sugar
and can tear your lips! As for lip balm, I highly recommend Maybelline Baby
Lips & I've also heard many good things about the Korres Lip Butters.
5.
Exfoliant/Face Scrub
This is so, so, so important! Dry
and dead skin on our face AND our body can make our skin look very dull. You
can also see the skin flaking off, and the skin is coarse to the touch. Using a
face scrub will remove any dead, flaky skin and will also help remove
blackheads. I love my Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant and I would recommend it
to everyone! I only use it twice a week and it leaves my skin feeling soft and
smooth!
So, that's all I have for you today!
