Lakme Invisible Finish Foundation SPF 8 review and swatches

Lakme Invisible Finish Foundation SPF 8 review and swatches

A month ago, while I was checking out some Lakme Absolute lipsticks shade at the Lakme counter, I saw this Lakme foundation and bought it without any second thoughts as the shade matched perfectly which is 04, I know it's a tad darker then my original skin color but as I got tanned and the BB cream from Maybelline that I was using in Radiance wasn't really matching that well.
What can be better than a foundation that can match your skin perfectly, even though you are tanned.:D

What the company claims-
Offers perfect blending and full coverage for a flawless invisible finish.
Formulation spreads evenly all over the skin including dry & uneven, patchy skin.
It contains SPF8 to provide sun protection.
Shades are especially created for Indian skin tones.

How to use- Dot the foundation evenly on your face & spread immediately with the fingertips. It is very easy to blend it with fingertips or a makeup sponge or even a brush, giving the same finish each time.

My experience- This Lakme Invisible Finish Foundation comes in eight shades and the shades are numbered than named.
I got the one in shade 04, which is the shade for medium to wheatish skin tones
It comes in a glass rectangular bottle with a trademark lakme maroon colored cap with which there is a spatula attached to scoop out the product.Wish could have been a pump.:D but never mind, this isn't that bad.

I am using it, since the day I bought it. It has a texture that blends beautifully on to the skin. One thing that I found interesting was that while you try to blend it, it feels satiny and powdery which further makes the blending altogether easier, better and quicker.
It gives an almost matte like finish with some dewiness due to which it can be used by the dry and oily skin types. Yes, that true as it has moisture that is enough to hydrate the skin but nothing that can make you feel greasy though that a different thing that oily areas of the face will secrete oil and no way a foundation can control it for more than a couple of hours. For that, I seek the help of my compact powder.

It is water based so, you can expect it to come off if you sweat, It's meant for days when you are more likely to spend your day indoors but not in the sun!! It will melt!!
As it is water based, it has not clogged my pores yet even if it was on me for around 7 hours and no breakouts yet!!
It's a medium coverage foundation and maybe build able but I haven't tried and I assume it will look cakey. It has SPF 8 which isn't enough if you are outdoors or even, if it is cloudy. You may have to use a sunscreen before this. Now, SPF also makes it more likely to give you white cast in photos with flash.

Above is the swatch of this foundation, you may judge the texture and the shade.
Overall, this is the best matched foundation so far even, if  am tanned and after few days ago, when the tan wears off, it renders useless.. No, why useless, I may use it the next time I will get tan..lol :D
Pros
  • It is easily available and very affordable.
  • Ingredients are mentioned on the packaging.
  • Packaging is good and travel friendly.
  • Spatula is good to take out the product rather than tapping it at the back of our hand.:D
  • Comes in eight shades to choose from, though at the counter they had only 4 of them.
  • It is good for those of us looking for sheer to medium coverage.
  • Gives a matte finish with dewy hints which makes it non drying
  • Has SPF 8, which is good that having nothing, I guess.
  • Texture is okay and when blended feels like satiny and powdery.
  • Water based, that makes it suitable for oily skin as will not clog pores even if used for long hours
  • I am pretty sure that there would be a shade that can be your perfect match fro this range as they come from lakme which makes foundation with more yellow tones to them so that they can suit Majority Indian akin tones better.
Cons
  • Do not expect heavy coverage or to conceals major flaws, you may use concealers for that.
  • Not waterproof so might not work in summers outdoors. It will melt and then appear blotchy.
  • For dry skin it will work fine but as it happens with most of the foundations for oily skin that the area with more active glands, will appears greasy or shiny, after couple of hours. So, for that compacts or blotting sheets may be helpful!!
Rating- 3.75 out of 5 You can buy it from Flipkart here

My take- It's a foundation made those of us who wants something in budget that can match well, give sheer to medium coverage and can be blended well with a staying power of about 7 hours, provided you aren't going to face the sun till you start sweating!

    1. That is right Monissha, shade 04 will not be suitable if you have a bit deep skin tone..
I just realised that the SA was wrong it comes in 8 shades i have checked it at Medplusbeaty.com, they have eight shades and out of which i think shade 07 and 08 will be suitable for you.
      Check out them.
