Vcare shikkakai paste Review

Vcare shikkakai paste Review GUEST Article by Monissha

Hello all,
Today, I will be reviewing Vcare shikakai Paste which i have been using for quiet a long time.

Vcare shikkakai paste

Price-  INR 90

Quantity75 gm

Ingredients- Shikkaki , fenugreek , amla , hibiscus , preservatives etc..
Vcare shikkakai paste

Packaging-  Packed in a tube with screw cap
What the company claims- Completely removes dirt and dust. Nourishes your hair and makes your hair look healthy.
My Experience-
As most of the shampoos and conditioner are loaded with lots of chemicals I wanted to go on natural stuffs. Already I don’t have the volume of hair that I used to have when I was young L  I heard about this sulphate and paraben free shikkakai paste that’s readily available in the market without the need of going through the tedious process of the traditional preparation of shikkakai powder at home plus it sounded totally natural.

It was not available on all super markets and I waited for nearly 2 months and finally found it in a medical store and got it. Costly for 90 bucks for a 75 gm tube. I consoled myself thinking of the harmful “chemical free factor”.
When I took the product out, I smelled the real shikkakai smell in it and also I could see the brown granules of the soap nut and was overwhelmed thinking that I found the right product.

It didn’t later much like shampoos but still lathered a bit that’s required to remove the dirt and grime. But I needed a lot of product for my hair (when its completely natural wondered how come it’s possible without chemical ;))
I cannot say it made squeaky clean. When I washed my hair I found the hair strands were little rough. I knew with that scrubbing paste ill make my hair rougher on second application. So I just left it to see how it actually works. When I dried my hair, I found it shinning and well conditioned J . As I need so much quantity of the product, from the second wash I started mixing equal amounts of the paste with my regular shampoo. And I don’t find any cons in it.

Pros-

·        Traditional shikkakai smell

·        Sulphate and paraben free

·        Has goodness of natural ingredients

·        Makes hair shinny and clean

Cons-

·        Availability may be an issue. I m not sure if it is available outside Tamil Nadu

·        Preservatives may be not a big con but I doubt what that “etc “includes? (Chemicals?)

Rating-  3/5

*** These are the writers view on this product.

This products has fetched negative views even if it worked well for the writer so try to consult a doctor before using it.

  4. This does okayish job when used on well oiled hair... Else it makes hair dry and rough (on a oily and greasy scalp), it is not very easy to lather.. I got this and didn't use for more than 2 washes... Reading the comments, my say is "The product depends on the quality of hair" and not to die for product.. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with my hair type (Oily scap, dry ends and naturally straight hair).

  6. In my opinion usage of preservatives is not a crime. This company is impressing people by using these words. I have used the product and its horrible. I would suggest not to get carried away by advertisements.

    1. I agree, preservatives are added to increase the shelf life!
Most of the products are not able to work even 10 percent of what is being shown in the ads, but these lucrative ads are made just to make people buy those products. I will not recommened this product too, as it has got so many negative reviews. Even though, luckily it worked for the guest writer.

  7. Oh I didn't know a review for this exists on your blog. One of my blog readers so wanted a review on it, I will tell him. And seriously the sulphates free and paraben free claim is misleading. The 'preservatives etc' is quite fishy. I am sure there is a harmful chemical preservative in there.
